To achieve perfect sound, isolating your car is as important as upgrading the speakers and amplifier. This ensures that road noise is fully absorbed and music takes center stage.
Creating a sound chamber around the speaker will also enhance its performance.
When dampening the car, we start by deadening the sheet metal. Adding weight to the sheet metal changes the resonant frequency, preventing it from vibrating or causing parts to rattle. This also improves the bass response of the installed speakers.
By applying lightweight polyethylene foam, we create a second acoustic barrier against unwanted external noise. We focus mainly on sounds above 100 Hz (wind noise/road noise). This isolation layer also prevents speaker sound from reflecting and causing delays or phase cancellations.
To absorb excess noise (tire and road noise and/or engine and exhaust noise), we apply an absorption layer between interior parts made of plastic and the sheet metal. This prevents loose parts from rattling.
The speakers we use are carefully selected components based on quality, frequency range, and fit. Each type of Porsche is different. Therefore, we 3D print various accessories (such as speaker rings and mounting frames) to ensure excellent quality.
A good tweeter is crucial to an upgrade. That's why we attach great importance to it. The tweeters we use are of the highest quality and larger, providing a much wider frequency range. We want you to experience an optimal stage feeling. The artist should almost be standing on the dashboard.
Selecting the right midrange was a challenge for us. Attention must be paid to the shallow mounting depth, and achieving the highest quality was a must. Without the perfect midrange, the sound quickly becomes restless and shrill, just like with the original Porsche audio system. We design and produce the mounting rings for this with the 3D printer to guarantee quality.
We achieve the next level mainly with our superior woofers. The standard Porsche system is very restless and wooden, lacking the necessary warmth and body expected. We heavily dampen the doors for the woofers. The better we transform them into a sound chamber, the better the woofers perform.
The result of all these efforts is a rich deep bass that is controlled and not overpowering. An upgrade must be a cohesive whole.
· In our audio upgrade, this is an optional choice because the performance of the audio upgrade is extremely high. Under normal use, the subwoofer will only provide additional support for frequencies below 40Hz.
If you're a big techno fan and like to push the limits, a subwoofer can be a valuable addition to relieve the door woofers.
The biggest advantage of the upgrade is, of course, the power. This is the biggest flaw of the original system and is partly due to the energy transition. In electric cars, all components must be as energy-efficient as possible to achieve the highest possible range. With certain car manufacturers, you can't even choose an audio package for a full electric car.
To ensure that the factory warranty remains intact, we produce our own wiring harnesses. This way, we are sure of the cable quality. Since universal wiring harnesses are often too long, we have to lose part of the wiring harness under the upholstery, resulting in unevenness and loss of quality.
Depending on the type of Porsche you have and the audio upgrade you choose, we work with an 8-channel amplifier (800W/RMS), a 12-channel amplifier (1100W/RMS), or multiple amplifiers. The technology of our Audison amplifiers is unmatched by any other audio manufacturer. With a view to the energy transition, these are very efficient, and you hardly notice a difference in your range with a Taycan after the audio upgrade.
The DSP software developed by Audison for its new Forza amplifier range is unprecedented. With a classic DSP amplifier, you analyze and manipulate the output signal, which works well if you have a 'full-range basis' signal, as with a classic 4-channel car radio.
With the input analyzer, all independent signals are reduced to 1 signal so that we can start configuring from a stable situation. The results of the measurement microphone are displayed in the software, allowing us to adjust to within 1 frequency.
Unfortunately, the classic 4-channel radio signal is becoming less common, and you start with a manipulated signal. This signal is already divided into frequency ranges for tweeters and woofers. Often, timings are also adjusted, making it very difficult to achieve a good end result. Audison has developed a solution for this.
